Prompt 6: Narrative
A narrative poem is exactly what it sounds like: it tells a story. Here are some ideas to get you started. Pick one and run with it.
- Tell the story of how you met your best friend or significant other.
- Think about the stories you tell to friends when you want to share something entertaining. Could you tell one in a poem?
- Tell the story of a transitional period on your life. Maybe you moved from one place to another, or you changed schools, or graduated, or started a new job. There have been entire chapbooks written about these sorts of things.
