Welcome to Day 26 of my personal month-late NaPoWriMo challenge. You can check out my previous post here, or click here for Day 1.
Prompt 26: Acrostic
Today I’ll be writing an acrostic, because I’ve never tried it before and it looks like fun. For those of you who don’t know, an acrostic is a poem in which the first letter of each line spells something out.
Often, these poems spell out someone’s name, but sometimes they spell out a whole message.
To choose your topic, spend 5 minutes freewriting and see what you come up with. Freewriting is the process of putting your pen to paper and writing continuously without filtering or revising as you go for a set amount of time. Take out a pen, set a timer, and don’t pause to think or worry about what you’re writing, just write words on paper and see what comes out.
If you try this, or any of the prompts I’m sharing throughout this month, let me know! If you try a prompt on your blog, share the link! I’ll check it out.
I also love to read any thoughts or writing tips you may have. Feel free to share them in the comments!
